SPLUNK FOR TRANSACTION MONITORING / DATA NORMALIZATION:
design architect and implement splunk to be used as a log consolidation tool, and the visualization component of our global monitoring system to normalize machine data, and correlate software layer errors to hardware based errors in eight unique stand-alone environments across multiple business units.

Objective:
to streamline communication and troubleshooting between infrastructure and development SME's, as well as provide a real-time monitoring system for the global network operations center, and gather real-time business intelligence for executive management.

NETWORK MONITORING MATRIX DESIGN / DEPLOYMENT:
architect and deploy a new, out-of-band visibility fabric for network layer packet level inspection across all global data centers by introducing a monitoring matrix leveraging both in-line passive network taps, as well as port-spans. This system must be able to be managed from a redundant pair of servers, and include role-level permission mapping to pulicize this information
Objective:
increase the ability to support service agreements, enhance the customer experience, while encouraging
knowledge sharing with other business units.
PROJECTS
In the world of electronic trading and financial industries, I have had the opportunity to work on some projects with the most cutting edge , DR/HA, and real-time requirements that have put many of the major technology vendors I have listed on the 'technologies' page to the test. In all of the projects listed here, I have been either the project manager , or I helped design / architect / deploy and manage systems within them. I have an added benefit of being an extremely technical project manager that can be a liaison between technical SME's and the business departments.
NEW YORK DATA CENTER MIGRATION
Migrate and refresh all infrastructure, telecom, and core components of the HA/DR facility to a new state-of-the-art high density data center in New York. We must also migrate from our current self-managed MPLS to a new MPLS node within this facility without causing service interruptions to our real-time institutional clients connecting to that facility.
Objective:
Refresh all hardware and monitoring devices, while migrating from Manhattan to New Jersey for our new HA/DR facility and creating a high density data center to reduce horizontal expansion and enhance our cost savings.
SPLUNK FOR OPERATIONAL / BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE AND EFFICIENCIES
Implement and administrate the enterprise splunk deployment, and create summary level dashboards that drilldown to granular detail while developing 'self-healing' and proactive alerting, and consolidating multiple monitoring and analytics tools to splunk.
Deploy and develop custom splunk apps in splunk for:
SQL, MySQL, SAS, Hadoop, Hive, Yarn, Cisco UCS, Tivoli, ZFS, Synthetic Monitoring, IBM Web Sphere, IBM MQ,
Linux, Windows, Nagios, SCOM
And consolidate all of these dashboards, configurations into a single app that can be easily deployed and administrated, while restricting access to sensitive or secure information to business owners and executives only and align with all security and governance compliance and audit processes.
Objective:
Increase operational awareness by 30%, while reducing alerting by 50%, and consolidating operational tools for cost savings.
